Regulation Risk and Compliance
Regulation - Risk and Compliance

Our success comes from designing risk and compliance training that delivers real business results

Our philosophy is to address compliance as an integral part of the way business is done, not as a separate issue. In the Risk and Compliance area we provide training to three distinct audiences:
¦ Boards - with strategic overview away-days and team briefings
¦ Compliance and risk professionals - with specialist workshops
¦ Business people - with the "how to" of compliance and risk
|
“CTP have a thorough understanding of the "regulation" … but more importantly the ability to … translate it into company process efficiently and with the minimum of fuss.” John Constable, Head of People Development, JLT Risk Solutions Ltd
In today's corporate world Boards must understand their responsibilities towards regulation and in particular risk and compliance. Shareholders and regulators alike demand proof on a regular basis and this is likely to intensify.
“Two years ago I said that we would take action against senior management of firms in the interests of ensuring proper attention to governance and controls and holding individuals to account for their own action and inaction. The recent significant fines on senior directors of Northern Rock are examples of this,” Margaret Cole, FSA Enforcement Director, June 2010.
Our Training Consultants bring real life experience of working in the types of businesses they train this means that they can relate to the practical difficulties faced in achieveing compliance and explain how to overcome them. We have been most sucessful in running interactive workshops for Boards and Senior Management to help them address their responsibilities in the regulated environment and respond to questions from regulators.
We are often asked to develop a specific programme of events for Boards and Senior Management that will improve knowledge and compliance understanding. The added benefit of this in house approach is that Boards and teams, often geographically or functionally separated but with a common purpose, can develop a common understanding and purpose as well as learn new skills. For example we create a series of events to address objectives such as:
- To provide an up to date understanding of regulatory compliance and the potential impact of new developments
- To embed knowledge of the Risk Based approach to monitoring and supervision
- To develop interviewing skills to support this approach
- To develop the format for reporting and the business writing skills to convey messages with impact at the highest levels
