David Cotton

David has worked in training and management consultancy for over 20 years, working in 4 continents and more than 20 countries. An alumnus of both Arthur Andersen and PricewaterhouseCoopers, David's client portfolio encompasses a broad range of international, local and national government bodies and private sector organisations in almost every industry sector. He has worked in both training and consulting roles with many of the major UK banks and insurance companies, the British Bankers Association and the UK financial regulator, the Financial Services Authority. Overseas he has considerable experience in the Middle East during the last eight years in particular, where he has run over 25 courses of mostly a week in length in various countries.

His work ranges from strategy development to advanced communication skills, through leadership impact and influence, client relationship management and networking skills, to coaching and mentoring. Much of his work involves making complex concepts simple and practical, whether through conversation, training or written communication. A prolific author, David has won awards for two of his books, and for an e-learning package on electronic marketplaces. He has written more than a dozen books and scores of journal articles. David studied linguistics for pleasure, speaks several languages, is a self-confessed pedant and grammarian.

David has a Bachelor of Arts degree, Diplomas in Training & Development and Hypnotherapy, is a Certified Business NLP practitioner, and is a Fellow of the British Institute for Learning and Development.

Jules Peck

Jules is an outstanding international coach and training consultant with over twenty years experience, specialising in leadership development and advanced communication in the workplace.

Jules provides tailored seminars and a diverse range of coaching, facilitation and mediation services. She has worked with many senior people including executive committees, FDs, senior management, board members, ambassadors and a mayor and his team. Her clients are drawn from a diverse range of organisations including major financial services industry organisations, formula one teams, pharmaceutical giants and the BBC. Jules’ background includes training diplomats in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the Department of Trade and Industry, and London Borough of Lewisham, prior to becoming a consultant.

Jules is a Master NLP Practitioner, qualified coach, MBTI Practitioner, ILM endorsed Action Learning Set Facilitator and member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. She is also a qualified facilitator and mediator for seminars and management development days. She has a passion for helping others achieve their goals, either through training courses or one to one coaching. In addition, Jules is an expert in work based relationships, having successfully undertaken mediations at all levels within organisations. Jules is a Member of the Association of Coaching.

Sarah Hobbs

Sarah is a qualified Chartered Accountant who now specialises in financial and commercial awareness training, leadership and management skills, and executive coaching.

Through a rare combination of technical expertise and outstanding communication skills, Sarah makes finance comprehensible and enjoyable for non-specialists.

As well as financial skills courses, Sarah delivers leadership and management skills programmes across different levels of seniority in large and small organisations, including the public sector. She works with Boards to facilitate communication and teamwork and increase financial literacy. She is an experienced coach at this level. Companies she has worked with include HMRC, Ince & Co, Simmons & Simmons, Nabarro, Wolseley plc, DLA Piper, PwC, Barclays Bank, BMJ Publishing, Olswang, Arcadia, NAG, DSGi, qnd Hyperama plc. Recent assignments include speaking engagements at conferences for the Ministry of Defence and Barclays Bank focusing on communication issues within large organisations.

Sarah trained as an accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers in London where she gained a solid business background and exposure to many different types of industry. After qualifying she transferred to the Training Department where she designed and delivered training programmes to groups throughout the United Kingdom and one-to-one coaching at partner level.

Paddy Bergin

Paddy Bergin specializes helping executives to improve communication skills in relationships, improve the quality of decision making, manage emotional & high performance states and how to motivate themselves and others. Using facilitation he helps people to discover where and when they are performing masterfully and how to transfer those skills to other situations.

Paddy's unique and effective style stems from his calm and focused energy attained through years of practicing NLP and Aikido. Paddy has provided executive coaching in a range of companies including Morgan Stanley, Schroder’s, Middlesex University, and Abbot, Mead Vickers (advertising agency). He is an NLP Trainer, Eriksonian Hypnotherapist, 4th Dan Aikido Practitioner and Instructor. 

John Carter

A commercially astute individual with business acumen, a proven track record and significant achievements that underline outstanding training, communication, organisational design, project management and operational management skills. John is highly experienced at helping people in major corporates meet the challenges of working in hierarchical and matrix management structures. He is particularly skilled in areas of people management and communication, two of the critical management skills in achieving personal goals.

He brings twenty seven years of business knowledge and experience to his work, most notably working for two blue-chip companies: the world’s largest Insurance Broker and a FTSE100 Outsource provider. He calls upon this experience when helping executives to make the most of their talents.

John holds a Diploma in Management as well as combining two skills, not normally associated, he is a qualified Executive Life Coach and trained and accredited Auditor.

Simon Horton

Simon has worked extensively in the financial services market helping executives to develop leadership skills and apply them in pursuit of the business goals. He describes his approach as relaxed, friendly but purposeful. As well as one-to-one coaching he leads training events to develop leadership, communication skills and influencing skills. Major clients have included Lloyds of London, Accenture, Merrill Lynch, Christies and Cancer Research UK. Before moving into an executive coaching role Simon led complex business process re-engineering or outsourcing projects and spanned the whole project life-cycle from process analysis through to end-user training.

Significant projects included BP/Exult where he managed the migration of all compensation and benefits processes; Henderson Investors, converting their processes to ISAs, as a response to Government legislation, ensuring compliance with all regulatory board requirements, and training the back office administration teams in using it. A master NLP practitioner and NLP Trainer, Simon runs national training events in this essential communications technique. He holds a BSc Hons in Physics, an MA in South-East Asian Studies and is fluent in French, Spanish and German.

Phil Ingle

Phil is a key trainer for CTP in management development and executive coaching. His energetic training style combined with intelligent facilitation and clear communication of complex issues has helped people at all levels of business to develop critically important skills across many management disciplines including risk and sales management, people management and strategy development.

He has delivered a number of programmes that have helped management in all areas of the financial services sector to improve their performance and that of their teams. He also provides key elements of the Diploma and Certificate in Management accredited programmes.

Phil's background is in financial services where he worked as a high street bank manager for Barclays and also as a training manager in both regulated technical subjects and management skills for the staff dealing with high net worth clients.

Phil holds an MBA (Cranfield) and is a graduate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. He is a Master Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming and holds Level ‘A’ Certificate of Competence in Occupational Testing from the British Psychological Society. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and holds the Financial Planning Certificate. 

Jo Melbourne

Jo is a qualified and experienced coach, as well as a consultant and trainer. Since 2001, Jo has been appointed to manage training and development for 3 distinguished financial services organisations based in the City in London. Over her career, she has gained extensive experience of delivering high profile projects in a regulated environment. Jo’s focus is on challenging paradigms, encouraging professional excellence and personal growth, and establishing learning and development as a key contributor to organisational success.

Jo is a qualified and experienced coach plus a certified practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Strength Deployment, Myers Briggs Type Indicator and Emotional Intelligence. Charles Meade-King

Charles is a solicitor and compliance professional with over 20 years experience in the financial services industry,

including roles at board and senior level for Alliance & Leicester, Inter Alliance and London Life. He has recruited and established three compliance teams as well as T&C and training functions and successfully lead many supervisory visits.

As a consultant he has developed considerable expertise in helping boards to adopt the right governance fraemworks and risk management approaches.  He has advised many mortgage and general insurance firms on the impact of the rules and guidance, helping them to adopt effective systems and controls.

He has presented at numerous international seminars on regulatory matters and combines practical skills and technical knowledge to address the challenges that senior managers and compliance professional face.

Jane Vessey

Jane’s career spans hands-on experience running a company, investment analysis and fund management with competencies in executive training and as a university lecturer.

Jane graduated in Mathematics from Oxford University and is a CFA charterholder. She has some eighteen years’ experience working in the investment industry; she started out as an equity analyst before becoming an investment manager. She was based in London and Tokyo and took responsibility for managing equity portfolios invested in the Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and other Asian markets. In 1990 Jane moved to Indonesia and established and ran an investment management operation on behalf of MeesPierson. She took responsibility for all areas of the business, including investment, operations, marketing and administration. Whilst in Asia, Jane was involved in providing training to capital market participants, state officials and teaching at courses provided by local universities in a number of Asian markets.

She has been a visiting lecturer at Cass, the City University Business School, teaching classes in asset management and valuation, and is a visiting lecturer at Cranfield Business School. She also teaches a CFA revision course at a number of business schools including Cass and Said Business School, Oxford. She has written study notes for students taking the CFA examinations which are published under the Pegasus Learning brand name. Jane is an associate at BPP Professional Education where she teaches courses covering investment management and related topics. Jane has just completed a three year term as a director of the CFA Society of the U.K. and has been elected a fellow of the society.

Tim Ward

Tim works in partnership with senior managers who are looking to continue to build their businesses and careers. He is skilled at helping people to establish their development needs and working on an individual basis to build or enhance skills in those areas. Examples where he can help include working with technical experts who need to build effective interpersonal or managerial skills; where individuals feel their potential (corporate or personal) is not being realised; and where someone is struggling to achieve a strategic perspective after promotion or entry to a new role or company.

Tim brings a broad spectrum of experience across different industries and has worked with individuals at board and senior management level in a range of organisations including insurance, media, wealth management, equity markets and rating agencies.

His 30 years experience in management and financial markets help him to empathise with and understand corporate stresses and challenges . He was Head of Issuer Services and Head of Marketing at the London Stock Exchange and Finance Director at FTSE International, the global index provider. A Chartered Accountant and Cambridge graduate, he also has an MBA from Henley Business School. He is an NLP Master Practitioner.

Romi Williamson

Romi is a consultant and Barrister-at-law. She has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry working initially as an auditor, then as a regulator and finally in executive management. Romi is a CPA as well as a practicing barrister specialising in the securities, regulatory and corporate governance fields.

Romi graduated in Accounting from Macquarie University, Sydney, qualified as a CPA with Coopers & Lybrand (now PWC) in 1986 before moving on to work with the Hong Kong Securities & Futures Commission in 1989. She was called to the Bar in the UK in 1994. Later entering the corporate field herself, she worked as head of Compliance for HSBC Asset Management and other financial services companies before ending up as an Executive Director of two listed Korean Securities companies where she was brought in to help lead the successful turnaround of these distressed companies. Working now as a legal expert in the securities and compliance field, she has consulted for companies such as Allianz, AIG and Banque Privée Edmond de Rothschild.

Romi has been Chairperson of the Board of Greenpeace China for the past five years where she has introduced a Policy Corporate Governance model. Romi is native Chinese and a permanent resident of Hong Kong and speaks English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

Adie DeCoursey

Adie works with a variety of clients at Board level from major global organisations, financial services the telecommunication sector, public utilities and elsewhere as a consultant and international conference speaker. As a coach he works with senior managers using planning, influencing and psychological strategies to enable them to understand their current situation, clarify their outcomes and create the strategies that will allow them to be effective, play more satisfying roles and increase their performance and results.

Having undertaken roles as deputy chief executive of a national organisation, leader of marketing teams and at the Ministry of Defence negotiating with blue chip organisations, he brings practical experience and empathy to his coaching. He has facilitated groups, led planning and project development groups, facilitated planning-days, designed and implemented communication strategies and managed organisational restructures and mergers. A Master NLP Practitioner and NLP Trainer, Adie is constantly exploring the latest thinking on what makes people tick and his thirst for information has equipped him with a wide range of complimentary skills.
